Haystack Golf Course is an 18-hole championship layout designed by acclaimed architect Desmond Muirhead in 1972. The course meanders over gently rolling terrain without the blind shots and side-hill lies you’d expect from a mountain layout — making it genuinely playable for groups with a wide range of handicaps. Four sets of tees means everyone can pick a distance that matches their game.
The course opens at 8 AM daily with a full service clubhouse, fully stocked golf shop, practice range, two putting greens, and PGA Professional instruction available. For a bachelor party group, that’s everything you need for a full day of golf before the evening entertainment arrives.
The Summer Mount Snow Bachelor Party Format
The summer format at Mount Snow is one of the cleanest bachelor party itineraries in Vermont. Tee off at Haystack at 8 AM, play 18 holes, lunch at the clubhouse, afternoon back at the condo or rental house, dinner on Route 100, and private entertainment arrives in the evening. The group has been active all day, everyone is in good spirits, and the condo setting is perfect for a private show.

Most bachelor party groups base themselves in West Dover — condos and rental houses along the Mount Snow access road give groups the most space and the best setup for private entertainment in the evening. Groups Coming From Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut
Mount Snow draws heavily from the Boston area, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The drive from Boston is about 2.5 hours, from New York City about 3.5 hours — close enough for a Friday arrival and Sunday departure weekend. Southern Vermont is significantly more accessible than northern Vermont ski destinations, which is part of why Mount Snow works so well as a bachelor party weekend for groups coming from the Northeast corridor.
